IT Release Manager
The Release Manager is responsible for the operational planning, organization, and management of multi-stream activities for building and maintaining frequent, concurrent software and infrastructure releases for promotion through a series of pre-production environments, ultimately leading to a high-quality production implementation. This role will be responsible for IT Release Management, Change Management, Infrastructure Upgrade Project Management, Environment Management, Deployment Management, Refresh Management & Information Security Compliance for Global Housing Applications in Assurant.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Release and Change Management Responsibilities
• Manages relationships and coordinates work between different teams across all locations. Partners with Scrum and system teams to create awareness of priority and schedule of deployment activities through environments to ensure the focus is sustained on the highest priority technical and business features.
• Coordination across application groups to plan and implement Major Projects and Client Conversions (on-boarding).
• Use agile methodologies to plan, coordinate, and lead deployments of major releases, weekly patches, and daily changes to all environments, including non-production and production
• Optimizes and improves processes and methodology and reviews with different stakeholders and impacted parties to make sure they are onboard with changes and implements those changes• Leads implementation of process changes and change management cycles, Testing, Deployment and Support Planning•
• Reviews test, deployment, and support plans to ensure completeness and appropriate level of detail. Ensures plans are communicated to stakeholders effectively. Leadership of release management teams, critical escalations, and driving issues to closure Release Management
• Defines the annual release schedule and single global release plan that includes all projects aligned to specific releases.
• Responsible for all aspects of release management and execution, providing leadership and guidance to the release management and stakeholder teams•
• Conducts Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews. Leads and coordinates Go-Live activities, including execution of deployment plans and checklists. Proactively develops and maintains a strong knowledge of the systems related to Release Engineering and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate.
OS Patch Management Responsibilities
• Planning and overseeing the deployment of operating system patches across the organization's IT infrastructure
• This involves analyzing patch release notes and security advisories to determine the urgency and impact of each patch.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of patching activities, including patch deployment schedules, procedures, and any issues encountered during the process. Generating reports and metrics to measure the effectiveness and compliance of the patching program.
• Continuously evaluating and improving the patch management process by implementing automation, streamlining workflows, and adopting industry best practices. Staying informed about emerging technologies, tools, and techniques related to patch management.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
• Bachelor s degree in IT or related field
• 5+ years of experience with Release Management / DevOps adjacent role
• Experience using Agile/Scrum methodology
• Azure DevOps, GitHub and Actions
• ServiceNow
• Microsoft Planner / Monday.com
• Experience in Major Change/Incident Management, Release Management, OS Patching Management & Technical Project Management
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
• Experience in continuous integration and continuous deployment, CI/CD.
• High-level of understanding of the software development lifecycle or process flow and analysis.
• Should have some experience with security and DevSecOps, helping to promote security in software development and operations.
• Understanding of automation/configuration management tools like: :
• Azure DevOps: Repos, Pipelines, Releases
• Microsoft Windows Server: IIS, and Services

Pay Range:
$84,100.00 - $140,500.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
